Parkdale Ladies Social Club

A very well organised and presented ladies group held at the Parkdale Shirley Burke Theatre every Wednesday.

Ann now the president and Dawn the previous have a valuable ladies club where there is over 50 members.

42 individuals were present for my presentation on Colour & Style, the group thoroughly enjoyed their time and I really appreciated the opportunity to chat to the group.

Kingston Council’s Business Womens Network

A business luncheon for likeminded business women and men was held at Woodlands Golf Club, key note speakers were Kirsten MacKelden from Real Weddings, Leah Miller from Waxed Salons and Bronwyn Paterson from Westpack Business Banking.

Each speaker shared their individual experiences both good and not so good to everyone.

The opportunity to network, meet new people and share ideas is always a good way to develop business relationships.

Curves – April evening

An event in April on Right/Wrong Colours/Style was presentation by Jayne at Absolutely For You.

Curves members and their friends were invited along for a fun evening, right and wrong colours and styles were shown.

A big thankyou to Adrienne – Manager at Curves for giving me the opportunity to introduce my passion to the members and how that passion can help with their programme at Curves.

Excellent evening – St Peters School

Ladies Night at the school in April, a whole range of products and services for women on the night, to contribute towards fund raising evening in June.

Absolutely For You donated a free style analysis and a $50 fee for the stall.

A very successful evening was had by everyone.

Wardrobe – Evaluate

Autumn and Spring are logical times to evaluate and organise a wardrobe, when the weather’s changing and so are the styles of new clothes in the shops. It’s better to carry out this at the beginning of the season when your clothes look fresh.

Wardrobing is a continous process involving 3 phases:
Evaluation
Discarding of nonfunctional pieces
Accumulating new pieces

The benefits of periodic wardrobe evaluation are:

Identify your clothing needs
Clearly define your likes and dislikes – define your personal style
Make better use of the clothing you already own
Decide what you need to add to or discard from your wardrobe
Avoid making mistakes on future clothing purchases
Eliminate the guilt you feel every time you open the wardrobe and are faced with unworn, wasted clothes
Save time and energy in shopping, sorting, dressing, cleaning, pressing, repairing, and replacing
Create and maintain an attractive, healthy self-image – knowing that your clothes enhance your appearance.

Allow plenty of time. Choose a time when you can be alone and nothing will interfere. For most people, evaluating and organising a wardrobe can take several hours. Once done, it becomes faster and easier the next time.

To save on time, prepare for the event, gather supplies you will need the day before.
